ABOUT BUCKEYE

Buckeye is a city located in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. It holds the distinction of being Arizona’s largest city by area and serves as the westernmost suburb within the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. The area was originally inhabited by the Hohokam culture, and in 1877, settlers led by Thomas Newt Clanton established a community in the Buckeye region. Early settler Malie M. Jackson played a crucial role in developing the Buckeye Canal, which he named after his home state of Ohio (known as “The Buckeye State”). Originally called “Sidney,” the town eventually became known as Buckeye due to the canal’s significance. Buckeye’s location approximately 30 miles west of downtown Phoenix places it in the scenic Buckeye Valley, with Interstate 10 passing through its central area
